Our Linux shared hosting accounts support explicit FTPS. FTP over SSL (FTPS) allows for the secure uploading of content and comes in two versions: implicit and explicit. I just bought WS_FTP Home because I really liked the interface, I'd rather figure out how to make this work! I don't doubt I've got a configuration error on my end, but since I'm pretty new to this SSL stuff, I don't know where to start. GoDaddy supports only the explicit secure FTP connection and they are telling me: "You may want to try using FileZilla or another program where the supported connection type has been tested and is known to work." What would cause this? The connection works fine with regular FTP, but when I add the secure FTP into the picture it fails. Please help!Ĭonnected to 143.199.237.62:21 in 0.000000 seconds, Waiting for Server ResponseĪfter the connection is established, I get a failure that says:įailed to switch to encrypted data channel! The remote window shows I'm connected to my host but I get the following in the log window. Not seeing my files in the remote window pane.
